BRANCH CHAIR

[Kenneth Gillespie]

To all our members the branch will hold elections for committee in June at which time I will stand down I fell that after 6 years as chair I have done my part. It was always my intention to remain as chair until we sorted out the recognition with the council and now that we have this it is time I feel for new blood.
I would like to thank all the members for the faith and support that they have shown to myself over the years, and I know that who ever the branch elect as chair they will have my support.

Kenny I'm sorry to hear that, accreditation is what we have been aiming for and now that that has been achieved I think you are the best person to chair the committee in the coming year. There is no one else around the table with relevant taxi experience that has been as committed as you have been since day one and would be willing to give up as much of their own time.

Sad to see you go Kenny but when you have achieved your aim its time to have a rest and re-charge your batteries. You will be a hard act to follow. If your successer has as much impact as you have had I am sure this Union, that you have led for so long, will go from strength to strength despite all the snipers and malcontents that have appeared in recent months.
I hope that you will continue to strive for the Trade albeit in another role
